Bishop Minerva G. Carcaño is slated to be a part of the "Protests, Policies, Polls and the Pandemic panel for National Council of Churches' Christian Unity Gathering, scheduled for Monday, October 12th, 1:30 p.m. EDT / 10:30a PDT.
The panel will delve into how the church and Christians can play a pivotal role in the re-formation of how protests, policies, polls and the pandemic have changed our lives and perspectives and what is needed for the church to meet this moment, address racism and other systemic issues, and breathe new life into our nation.
The theme for NCC's Christian Unity Gathering is Breathing New Life into Our Nation: Repentance, Re-Formation, Reparation, and is grounded in the biblical passage Ezekiel 37: 3-6, 'Yahweh said to me, ‘Mortal, can these bones live?’ I answered, ‘O Lord God, you know.’ Then God said to me, ‘Prophesy to these bones, and say to them: O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord God to these bones: I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. I will lay sinews on you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live; and you shall know that I am the Lord.’
