Interim Bishop Sally Dyck and the Appointive Cabinet gathered for a brief retreat on September 5 and 6, in advance of the upcoming season of Annual Church Conferences.
In addition to sharing in devotional and fellowship time together the Appointive Cabinet spent time discussing areas of focus for Annual Church Conferences; developing a more consistent and intentional way of assessing local church health/vitality post-lockdown; integrating the newly adopted Conference Vision Statement in their collective and individual work and reviewing the findings of the most recent Clergy Wellness report from Wespath. The group also spent time talking about ways to more effectively engage in outreach and recruitment of seminary students.
Pacific Grove, First UMC and Rev. Gayle Basten provided wonderful hospitality as hosts for the retreat time.
