The Beulah Older Adult Committee of the California-Nevada UWF is now accepting applications for grants that support older adults with needs ranging from physical, mental, spiritual and emotional needs as well as everyday essentials such as transportation.
The committee administers this fund by awarding grants to projects or programs sponsored by official bodies of the United Women or the United Methodist Church in the California-Nevada Conference. The committee accepts grant applications each year between April 1 and August 1, grants are announced in November, and funds are distributed between January and July of the following year.
In 1912 The Women's Home Missionary Society (predecessor organization of the United Methodist Women) of the Methodist Episcopal Church founded the Beulah Home as a residence for retired missionaries, deaconesses, and ministers. In the late 1980's the residential home was sold by the California-Nevada UMW and the assets were placed in a permanent fund to benefit older adults.
