THE YOUNG PEOPLE ARE CHANGEMAKERS: Voices of Hope
“When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3 Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability.”
(Acts 2:1-4, New Revised Standard Version of the Bible)
The Day of Pentecost birthed a movement, the church of Jesus Christ. The young people received the Holy Spirit and tongues of fire are appearing among them through their voices of inclusion in the life of the California Neva Conference. These voices are many languages manifesting into diversity and passion in their call and commitment as CHANGEMAKERS. The Holy Spirit is enabling the young people to become the voices of hope according to their abilities during this time of COVID-19 pandemic and the outcry for justice to the victims of institutionalized of systemic racism.
Let us empower the young people, both youth and young adults in sharing their voices of hope in their participation, engagement, involvement in the decision-making process of the conference at our 172ndSession of the Annual Conference Session on September 18-21, 2020.
