Mission Service Dinner includes GBGM staff and itinerating missionaries

Editor's note: Although the conference is not offering meals during Annual Conference 2023, several groups are hosting mealtime events. Some of these events are for specific groups and some are open to folks who would like to join. We will begin publicizing these events in early June through the Instant Connection and on the ACS 2023 webpage.  If you would like to host your own mealtime event and publicize it through the conference, click here.

The California Nevada Annual Conference welcomes our missionaries with the General Board of Global Ministries serving in different parts of the world. Starting this May, missionaries have resumed visiting churches and conferences for connection and building partnerships following a long pause due to COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Joy Eva Bohol https://umcmission.org/missionary-bio/3021829/ is visiting with our Conference Committee on Young People's Ministry headed by Lulu Sapigao for an event titled, "KAMAYAN (By hand)" at Heirloom East Bay. She will join the Christmas Institute Community Picnic in San Francisco on Saturday and will preach at Pinole UMC on Sunday, May 28. Bishop Sally Dyck will receive her at her office at the UM Conference Center in the morning on Wednesday, May 31, and she will share the morning devotion at the staff's  monthly worship. Joy Eva will return to Geneva on June 1.
  • Jonathan and Terah Park, a couple missionaries serving in Vietnam afe visiting us at the Annual Conference Session. Katherine Parker https://umcmission.org/missionary-bio/15187z/ is itinerating and coming to CalNev Conference in middle of July onwards till the fall. Fetuma Olangi Kutela https://umcmission.org/missionary-bio/3022312/ is visting in August.

CCMS is inviting clergy and lay delegates, churches and individual donors supporting Children and Poverty, Disaster Response, Volunteer In-Mission and Global Ministries to dinner on Saturday, June 17 at 5:15 pm-6:30 pm at Faith UMC located at 3600 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95816. The United Women in Faith of Faith UMC will prepare Fijian food for dinner.

We have featured guests joining the dinner. Mary Lou Boice, GBGM Advance staff, Jonathan and Terah Park, GBGM missionaries serving in Vietnam.

This dinner time will provide opportunities to hear more about the work of CCMS and especially what God is doping through our partners in global mission and recognize those who have deep commitment in supporting our missionaries.

We invite you to register for $20 and join the CCMS dinner. A reminder that Saturday evening is the Commissioning and Ordination Service at 7 pm. We intend to finish dinner on time so that ACS delegates and friends could have sufficient time to get back to SAFE Credit Union  Convention Center.

Please feel free to contact by text or call Rev. Dr. Fel Cao, Conference Secretary of Global Ministries at 408.306.4958 and email at felicisimo.cao@cnumc.org if you have any questions.
