The South Sacramento Interfaith Partnership (SSIP) recently held its annual fundraising dinner and auction. Established in 1970 and located at Bethany Presbyterian Church, the SSIP Food Closet serves families and individuals in need through the distribution of donated and purchased food. Seven Sacramento United Methodist congregations partner with the agency: Centennial, Chinese Community, Florin, Hope, Oak Park, Sacramento Japanese, and Sacramento Wesley.  Event speakers were Lori Sugar, food closet coordinator, and Erik Kintzel, Sacramento Food Bank.
