The Sacramento Gay Men's Chorus returns to Stockton to perform in the Sanctuary of Central, Sunday, May 7 at 3.00pm. The SGMC was founded in 1984 as a singing group aimed at fostering a sense of community and providing support for Sacramento area gay and lesbian people. Over the past thirty years, the group has become an integral part of the Sacramento arts community as well as a voice for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality. The chorus strives for musical excellence and maintains a vigorous rehearsal schedule and music education program. Alan Cook, Director of Family Ministries states that the congregation is thrilled to welcome the 55 members of the Sacramento Gay Men's Chorus back to Stockton after a four year break from performing in Stockton. It is a privilege for Central to host this concert in our sanctuary. The concert will feature many of the songs that they will perform at their Putting' on the Glitz! concerts in early June. Tickets are $10 and can be reserved by calling 209.466.5046 or at the door.
