Register Now for May NETworX Orientation in Watsonville

4/11/2019

Generational poverty doesn’t have to be something we simply accept – nor should we accept it, as Christians! Some United Methodist churches are taking a unique approach to tackling this issue, and you can join them by attending an orientation in Watsonville, CA in just a few weeks.

Most churches provide some form of assistance to poor hardworking families, but the NETworX program teaches congregation members to actually befriend and walk with the poor. Through this approach they can provide life skills training, help establish networks, foster relationships, and engage in mutual problem-solving with the poor, to end the generational poverty cycle.

Wouldn’t you like to learn more? Then register to attend a NETworX Orientation, being offered at First United Methodist Church of Watsonville, May 3-4. (It will begin at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 3 and end at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 4.) The event is sponsored by NETworX Western Regional Training Center and the California-Nevada Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church.

The registration fee is $25 and does not include transportation and lodging. Make checks payable to Carson City First United Methodist Church, and mail to Carson City First at 400 West King Street #100, Carson City, NV 89703.
