Ecumenical Advocacy Days for Global Peace with Justice will gather in Washington, D.C., April 5-8, 2019 for its 17th Annual Conference. Registration for the conference is now open – and our sponsors need your help to amplify and promote this important advocacy training event!
This year’s theme is “Troubling the Waters for the Healing of the World – #GoodTrouble.” The theme comes out of an expressed need for the 2019 EAD to not only focus on advocacy training, but also to examine and explore how to build movements and coalitions in our communities, as well as through our denominational bodies, community and civic organizations, faith-based groups, and other networks. The history of engaging in #GoodTrouble is embedded in our faith tradition and in our history as a nation and in the world. Congressman John Lewis, a civil rights pioneer and activist who has been on the frontlines of fighting for justice for many decades, has inspired our theme by his calls for people from all walks of life to get into #GoodTrouble on behalf of others and to fight injustice.
The significance of our upcoming gathering cannot be understated. We gather at a time in which people of faith and conscience are again called to stand in the prophetic stream of those who have come before us, those who were not afraid to stir up #GoodTrouble for the sake of God’s kingdom. In addition to the advocacy training and policy and issue analysis that are hallmarks of EAD, in 2019 we will also hear from pioneers from the Civil Rights Movement and other social justice movements, as well as from young leaders who are inspiring us today with their courage and commitment to stirring up #GoodTrouble and transforming our world.
Register TODAY for the 2019 Ecumenical Advocacy Days Global Peace with Justice Annual Conference! Join Rev. Dr. Raphael G. Warnock, senior pastor of The Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Rev. Dr. Liz Theoharis, co-chair, The Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival, and other dynamic speakers April 5-8, 2019 in the nation’s capital as we gather on the theme, “Troubling the Waters for the Healing of the World – #GoodTrouble!”
