Missionary Katherine Parker to Keynote Thursday Mission Lunch at ACS

United Methodist Church missionary Katherine Parker will be the keynote speaker at the Mission Lunch at this year’s Annual Conference Session in Modesto, taking place at noon on Thursday, June 20at Greens on Tenth. The lunch will celebrate the 200th Anniversary of Global Ministries.
The restaurant is located about a block from the DoubleTree Hotel, the site for ACS.
In addition to Parker’s address, the event will include greetings from Global Missionaries personnel and presentation of certificates for missionary support, along with the introduction of new missionary Hesed Soriano Lim from the Philippines, who is being commissioned at ACS during the Friday evening Service of Commissioning and Ordination.

Katherine Parker is a water micro-biologist serving as in Nepal as a member of the health team of the United Mission to Nepal. Her principal work is in Rukum, which is a rural location in the hills a day’s journey from Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital. Parker works with women and children in community development.Her home church is Mt. Tamalpais UMC in Mill Valley.
