Elmhurst United Methodist Church in Oakland, California cordially invites you to attend a "Holiday Brunch and Fellowship" on Saturday, December 7, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event is hosted by the Committee on African American/Black Ministry of the California-Nevada Conference of The United Methodist Church and by the Bay Area chapter of Black Methodists for Church Renewal (BMCR). A wonderful gathering is being planned, to include liturgical dance and choirs.

The following month there will be an opportunity to come together again, when Jones Memorial UMC in San Francisco will host a Town Hall-style gathering, Saturday, January 11, 2020, also from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., to have conversations within the community regarding developing and identifying leadership, strengthening the black church for the future, and UMC general conference concerns around embracing love for all of God’s children.

Please RSVP to Marsha Maloof, chairperson, Conference Committee on African American/Black Ministries, at 415-468-9168 or marshapen@gmail.com, or Rev. Quentisha Wiles Davis, chairperson, BMCR – Bay Area chapter, at 925-432-7614 or pastorq@comcast.net.
