The Commission on the Annual Conference Session held its final meeting in preparation for the 2019 ACS, this week in Modesto. The planning session took place on Tuesday at the DoubleTree Hotel, site of the June 19-22 event.
The session – the 171st for the California-Nevada Conference – will be called to order by Bishop Minerva G. Carcaño at 9 a.m. on June 19. The bishop also will be the preacher and celebrant for the Celebration of Communion that morning, a service that will include receiving the Conference Offering on behalf of Davuilevu Theological College in Fiji, and will be celebrant and preacher for the Service of Commissioning and Ordination Friday evening. An offering for the Ministerial Education Fund will be taken at the commissioning and ordination service.
The Rev. Blake Busick will preach at the Memorial Service Thursday afternoon at 2:00, at which the offering for Necessitous Grants will be taken.
Wednesday and Thursday evenings will be devoted to Christian Conferencing on Strategic Visioning, led by the Conference's CORE Team.
A prayer room will be available throughout the conference.
Check-in for the session will be open for two hours (6-8 p.m.) on Tuesday, June 18. Greeters will be available then and until the conclusion of the Memorial Service.
