December Workshops Help Build More Inclusive Community

11/13/2019

The California-Nevada Conference Children and Poverty Committee, through the Mission Service Committee, is providing two innovative workshops on Saturday, December 7 at Elk Grove United Methodist Church.

The workshops, “Liberating Communication” and “Sacred Space – Understanding the Impact of Trauma,” came out of the NETworX experience of working with generationally poor people who are breaking the cycle of poverty. Creating liberating communication and creating sacred space beyond trauma both are keys to transformation that can benefit any congregation or community.

They are being presented by NETworX USA and hosted by Uplift People of Elk Grove and Elk Grove UMC on a donation basis (to help offset presentation and meal costs).
“Liberating Communication” will take place 9 a.m. to noon; “Sacred Space,” 1-4 p.m.

RSVP to Jeff@upliftelkgrove.org by December 2.

Elk Grove UMC is located at 8986 Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove, CA 95624.
