Bishop Minerva G. Carcaño traveled to the McAllen, Texas area in late January for a meeting of The United Methodist Immigration Task Force that included a visit to the border. Kathy Gilbert, a reporter for United Methodist News Service (UMNS) – along with UMNS photographer Mike DuBose – accompanied the group and published a moving account, “United Methodists respond to migrants at the border.”
