Three Rivers Circuit coordinates Adopt A Family Program

12/5/2017

The Adopt-a-Family Christmas Program has made a joyful Christmas a reality for about many local families in need every year since 2002 thanks to the Family Intervention Team (FIT) Foundation. Since 2010, local United Methodist Churches in the Three Rivers Circuit have matched families in need with donors willing to provide. This year, 53 families will be served through this program, which have already been identified and referred through county agencies, departments, and schools. Each year, individuals, organizations, and local businesses of our communities have been incredible in their willingness to be matched anonymously with these families in need after receiving specific information about the family’s needs and wishes. Another 59 foster kids will be served as well bringing the total to 249 individuals being served this year. This program was supported in many ways: the provision of unwrapped new toys; non-perishable holiday food items; gift wrap and bows; and monetary donations used to purchase grocery gift cards for the perishable food items needed to complete holiday meals; and clothing items still needed. The co-coordinators for the Program are Tim and Debbie Meeker and if you have any questions about the Program, or want to make a financial contribution, they can be contacted by phone at (530) 790-7554, or by email at coordinators@FITAdopt-a-Family.org. All of the above mentioned non-monetary donations were collected at: First United Methodist Church – Yuba City. The United Methodist Churches of the Three Rivers Circuit and listed below, have been blessed with this opportunity to be part of our community’s efforts and to help show God's love to local families in the most need this Christmas.
