Turlock First UMC Works with Santa Rosa Fire Relief

November 02, 2017 | by

Turlock First UMC rallied together October 15 for the Redwood Empire Food Bank. Redwood Empire Food Bank were receiving donations of perishable and nonperishable food items that required preparation and cooking facilities. However, they were in dire need of nonperishable foods that required no cooking or preparation. Local resources were depleted. First UMC Turlock received $4,000 worth of donations in one hour.  They were able to purchase water, Gatorade, protein bars, jerky, trail mixes, and a variety of other foods. They are supplying 33 locations in the fire areas.  With the help of the local Turlock Costco, and U-Haul, food was delivered on October 19.
