Building Bridges of Faith in a Fear-Filled World

Hans Küng, a Catholic Swiss theologian has said, “There will be no peace among the nations without peace among the religions. There will be no peace among the religions without dialogue among the religions. There will be no serious dialogue among the religions without investigation of the foundations of the religions.”

Promoting relationships and dialogue among Christian communities and among communities of different religions is at the heart of the work of The Committee on Christian Unity and Interreligious Relationships. CUIR challenges each church to build bridges of peace and understanding in their local community.

CUIR is committed to working with congregations and our Conference as we develop relationships ecumenically (within the Body of Christ) and with people of other faiths.  It is our goal to foster understanding of our commonalities and our differences as children of God.

As representatives of Christ in the interfaith community, we will develop our own Christian discipleship.  In interfaith dialogue and cooperative work, we will contribute to the transformation of the world as we foster acceptance and peace.

Please check out some resources that have been helpful, inspiring, and challenging in our ecumenical and interfaith work.  Our hope is that this list continues to grow.  If you have any resources that have been especially powerful for you, please share them with us through Akiko Miyake-Stoner (akiko@ujcclife.com). Thank you!

If you would like to be part of CUIR's network and email list, please contact Akiko Miyake-Stoner (akiko@ujcclife.com).  You will receive occasional emails regarding upcoming events.
