Program Coordinator $20 / hour Part-time Want to be our Coordinator? We are looking to fill the position of Coordinator for Uplift People Elk Grove. Uplift People Elk Grove is a comprehensive, holistic program designed to break the cycle of poverty by building well-being together: rethinking poverty, reframing solutions and reshaping our community. Through education and intentional relationships, we can restore abundance for families and individuals and bridge the cultural and socioeconomic class lines that often divide us. One of our primary goals is to provide a framework in which people can move off public assistance and build abundant lives. The Coordinator's primary role is to serve as the face of Uplift People Elk Grove in the Community. In addition, the Coordinator will: • Leverage community resources to achieve the goals of Uplift People Elk Grove. • Promote visibility of the organization in the community. • Assist and support the Coach in handling the day to day operations of the program. • Work with the Board to develop solutions to the barriers that impede the transition out of poverty for our participants. • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate the Coach. • Recruit, hire and retain Champions for Change and Allies and provide training so that they can work collaboratively with people from other socio-economic classes. Job Requirements • 4 year degree and/or commensurate training and experience. • Strong communications skills and ability to operate adeptly in groups from all social classes. • Fundraising/grant writing experience. • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with attention to detail. • Program management experience. • Computer fluency. • Ability to pass background check and drug screening. • Valid driver's license and personal transportation. Essential Responsibilities: • Engage the community in supporting Uplift People Elk Grove. • Work with the Board in implementation and evaluation of the program. • Identify and secure private contributions or grants. • Collaborate with Board to oversee and implement Uplift budget. • Address community groups and other interested parties. • Network with appropriate community sectors and groups to recruit both Champions for Change (participants) and Allies (volunteers). • Participate in the Uplift match process. • Provide conflict resolutions if necessary within the Uplift community. • Ensure confidentiality is maintained for all communications, both written and oral. • Maintain accurate records and complete required reports. • Regularly attend and provide leadership in team and community meetings. • Other duties as assigned. In addition, the ideal candidate will: • Maintain a positive work environment. • Develop a sense of community in which each person, including paid staff, is a part of the weekly meeting rather than a leader. • Stay composed in situations of stress or conflict. • Develop a supportive, empowering culture for diverse members of the community. • Possess strong organizational skills in managing complex tasks with autonomy. • Identify personal and professional development opportunities and take the initiative to pursue self-development as appropriate. • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Be able to work a flexible schedule that meetings the needs of the Uplift People Elk Grove Community. $20/hr, 1040 hrs/yr, Grant-funded position.
