Exotic sights, scents, and sounds reign in this fascinating land where Europe and Asia meet. From Istanbul, magnificent "Empress of the World," to ancient ruins and stunning landscapes, join us on a small group two-week tour to Turkey from March 24 through April 6, 2011. The focus of the tour is to educate ourselves on the early history of Christianity by visiting the Seven Churches of Revelation, the House of Mary outside of Ephesus, and the historical sites of Istanbul. Our tour will also look at modern Turkey through the lens of its Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman history and culture. The cost of the tour, land only, is $2550.00, (an additional $600.00 for a single room traveler).
The cost includes 12 nights hotel stay with breakfasts, entrance fees to all sites covered in the tour, licensed Turkish guide/escort, tips for guide and driver, and the services of Ephesus Chief Archeologist Dr. Cengiz Icten. Supplemental costs includes international airfare ($1280 roundtrip from Sacramento, CA); one internal flight ($75.00), $20.00 Visa for US Citizens, meals not included in the itinerary, personal expenses, and travel insurance.
