Location East Salinas Family Center UMF

Teams visit the mission outreach center and church to the Hispanic community in Salinas, CA - home territory to John Steinbeck.  Join us in ministry, help us maintain the facility. Available year-round.

Ministry serves the kids of the community through our after school tutoring and recreation programs.  We have added a kid's music program and are also working with the parents of the kids in the after school program. We host a family night program every third Friday of the month which is open to all the families of the community. We provide chaplain services to the County Hospital and a Women's Rehab Program, and work with the city and county to prevent youth violence.  We have an on-site kitchen.

Our facility needs are primarily plumbing and electrical. Water faucets and sinks need repair and replacing. Electrical sockets need replacing. This is needed both at the church and the parsonage. The parsonage needs painting and closet door replacement. Our sprinkler system needs sprinklers that sit far enough underground so as to be protected from the kids running over them. We have to replace sprinklers often and it is expensive.
