Beyond Pink and Blue

"Beyond Pink and Blue: Pathways to Gender Understanding in a Changing World" will be held on Saturday, March 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Federated Church, 1031, Thompson Way, Placerville. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for high school and college students with lunch included. Eli Stephens, a Master of Arts student in ethics and social theory at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, will lead the event exploring the world of gender and its place in life, school, and the church. The program is geared for high school aged kids and adults. Discussion will include:

  • unique needs of transgender kids and adults;
  • help available to people with gender identity questions;
  • help for teens who struggle with gender issues; and,
  • current laws about protecting the rights of transgender kids and adults.
