Glocalizing Justice Youth Training

March 05, 2014

The California-Nevada Philippine Solidarity Task Force presents the 2014 Philippine Youth Training (PYT), "Empowering Leaders for Faith-Rooted Solidarity and Justice Work." Session two, "Glocalizing Justice," will be held on Saturday, March 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at South Hayward UMC, 628 Schafer Rd., Hayward, CA 94544.

The second session will explore the history and struggle of migrants from the Philippines worldwide and learn the ties between local and global community. Participants will be asked to expand their knowledge in the root causes of migration and build connections towards transforming the world and growing in the present day. Participants will also be asked to identify and strengthen skills to learn how they can be used as tools for justice and liberation.

These sessions will also serve as info sessions for the upcoming Pastoral and Solidarity Visit in July. For participants who can't be present, Google Hangout will be available.  Applications for the upcoming visit will be distributed also. Bring a journal or a notebook to accompany the process.

The event is being sponsored by National Ecumenical Forum for Filipino Concerns (NEFFCON-NorCal). For more information, contact Rev. Jeanelle Ablola at pastorj@pineumc.org, or Nikki Salde at nikkisalde@gmail.com, or call (415) 387-1800.
