Western Jurisdiction National Plan for Hispanic/Latino Ministry Meets in California-Nevada

February 20, 2014

The Western Jurisdiction National Plan for Hispanic/Latino Ministry recently met at the Conference Center of the California-Nevada Conference. The group's purpose is to strengthen and grow Hispanic/Latino ministry in the Western Jurisdiction.
There are three main areas of focus:
  • Planting new Latino churches;
  • Developing new leaders both clergy and lay; and
  • Advocacy.
The goal is to plant 109 new churches by 2014.  Each conference in the Western Jurisdiction has made commitments.  The California-Nevada, California-Pacific, Desert Southwest, and Pacific Northwest Conferences have committed to starting 20 new churches each. Oregon-Idaho Conference has committed to 15 new churches, Rocky Mountain Conference 12 new churches, and Yellowstone Conference two new churches.
