Young Adult Missionaries Engage, Connect, Grow

August 06, 2013

On Aug. 12, young adults who have answered God’s call on their life will be commissioned by the United Methodist General Board of Global Ministries as US-2s and mission interns. The 29 missionaries are between the ages of 20 and 30, they come from eight countries, rural towns and big cities, and different socio-economic backgrounds. They will be sent to serve for two years with organizations around the world, sharing God’s love through acts of mercy and piety.

Please keep these young adults in prayer along with the communities they will serve. Financial support can be made through the Advance #13105z.

The theme of the commissioning service is “Connecting is Mission; Mission is Connecting.” Bishop John Schol of the Greater New Jersey Annual Conference will be preaching at the service in Interchurch Center Chapel in New York on Monday, Aug. 12 at 11:30 a.m. (ET). United Methodists are invited to watch the commissioning live at and sharing messages of encouragement. Follow @umcmissionGT on Twitter for training and commissioning updates.
