Red, White, and Blue Parade

July 22, 2013

Citrus Heights UMC made an appearance in the 14th annual Citrus Heights' Red, White, and Blue Parade. Thirty-five congregants and one service dog participated.  Parade viewers learned of Citrus Heights UMC 50 plus years of ministry to the community. Ministries include sponsoring Boy Scout Troop 635, providing Tuesday lunches for more than 100 children at Gladys Standard’s Sayonara After School Program, providing a meeting place for the Highland Avenue Neighborhood Watch, and having National Night Out on the church's grounds on August 6. The church is handicap accessible and provides hearing devices and Braille hymnals during worship. Children's Sunday School is available. There were 15 guests at a June BBQ and three have returned for worship with one of them taking membership vows.
