Elverta UMC Gets Excited about Building a Bridge of Love to Angola

April 24, 2013

Elverta United Methodist Church decorated a bucket they are using to collect offerings for the clinic in Bom Jesus, Angola. Pictured with the bucket are Robin Marose, the church's financial secretary and pianist, and Belinda Helms, the lay leader. Marose and his family decorated the bucket. The congregation is enthusiastic about contributing to the effort to restore an important part of the United Methodist Church's mission in Angola.

The special mission project, "Building a Bridge of Love to Angola," is to help empower our brothers and sisters in Angola and aid in the reconstruction of the medical clinic in Bom Jesus.
Bishop Brown is challenging the annual conference to raise $50,000 by June to dedicate and bless the offering for the mission during 2013 Annual Conference Session. "Building a Bridge of Love to Angola" will take the place of the traditional offering at Annual Conference. Promotional materials to help with the interpretation of this offering for mission can be found at: www.calnevumc.org/angola.
