Training for Clergy IN Cross-Cultural/Cross-Racial Appointments

A gathering for clergy in cross-cultural/cross-racial appointments will be held on Thursday, May 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the California-Nevada Conference Center, 1276 Halyard Drive, West Sacramento 95691. The event is for persons going into a new cross-cultural/cross-racial appointments and persons currently serving in such appointments.  

The theme for the event is "Following Jesus into Samaria: I Must Take this Journey God Has Given Me."
The session will be hands on with real-life cases to analyze, small group exercises, specific tools to use in strengthening pastoral leadership cross-culturally, and identifying ways to move through misunderstandings to wholesome relationships.
There is no cost for the event and lunch will be provided. However, when a person registers, they will be invited to take the Intercultural Effectiveness Scale (IES) which is highly recommended. It will provide you with a visual profile of your current aptitude with strengths and challenges, as well as specific recommendations for increasing your intercultural effectiveness. The cost for the IES is $12.
