Mission Emissary from Uganda to Visit in February

January 10, 2013

The Rev. Martin Odi, Youth and Child Visionary Ministries (YCVM) Consultant from Uganda, will share his experiences of the grassroots mission work in Kumi, Uganda at a dinner gathering hosted by the Chinese Community United Methodist Church in Oakland, Saturday, February 2 at 5 p.m. The church is located at 321-8th Street, Oakland, CA, 94607.

Six years ago, the church funded the purchase of land and a partnership was born with the Youth and Child Visionary Ministries of Uganda. From this totally grassroots project, the congregation has witnessed the power of faith working a miracle – brick by brick.

"While the church has been involved with YCVM for the past seven years and led a Volunteer in Mission (VIM) trip there in 2009, this is the first time that they have been able to bring a mission representative to the United States," writes Becky Wong.

Everyone is invited to come, hear stories of how the project was conceived and developed, and to be a part of the campaign to open Kumi Christian Visionary School (KCVS) in 2014.

Tickets for the dinner and program are $10 per person.

Reserve your spot now, contact Becky Wong at 510.545.YCVM (9286) or ycvminfo@gmail.com. Reservation deadline is January 26.
