SSP Accepts Registrations for Summer Programs in Central America

January 09, 2013

The Sierra Service Project (SSP) is accepting registrations for its summer service programs in Guatemala and Nicaragua.

Participants immerse themselves in the culture of Nicaragua and Guatemala, two of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere, working alongside community members in both rural and urban settings. These trips are challenging, life-changing and extremely rewarding experiences for mature young people who are eager to grow in faith and understanding.
Two Study and Serve Programs:

Guatemala: Sunday, June 30 to Wednesday, July 10, 2013
SSP will return, for the third summer, to the central highland area of Guatemala. The team will spend 10 days working in two different small, indigenous communities.
Nicaragua: Saturday, July 13 to Wednesday, July 24, 2013
For the first time, SSP will send a team to live and work in one small, rural community in Nicaragua.
The cost of each program is $1,175 plus airfare from Los Angeles.
Limited scholarship assistance is available.
For more information about these experiences, visit the SSP website or call the office at (916)488-6441.
