Bishop Warner H. Brown, Jr., resident bishop in the California-Nevada Annual Conference, has posted his 2012 Advent Letter to the Conference website.
In the letter, Bishop Brown extends Advent blessings and reports that he currently is in the Philippines, presiding at the Dec. 6-18 Philippines Central Conference Session on behalf of the Council of Bishops. He assures Cal-Nevadans, "I remain fully aware of what's going on in the California-Nevada Conference whether or not I am physically present." The bishop adds that he has "complete confidence" in his leadership team, which he says will keep him informed so that he can make all necessary decisions while he is away.
The trip is an example, the bishop says, of the additional responsibilities he must undertake as president designate of the Council.
He concludes with an assurance that he holds the people of the Conference in prayer, and a request for prayers on his own behalf.
Read the bishop's letter in its entirety here, or on the Home Page of the Conference website, www.cnumc.org (under the heading "Conversations with the Bishop"). You'll find all of the bishop's letters and articles by clicking on the "Bishop" tab on the Home Page, and then selecting "Bishop's Articles" from the menu on the right.
