LAS VEGAS (UMNS) — Registration is now open for the United Methodist event Relevance X 2013: Making New Disciples and LEAD 2013. Register early for event discounts (early registration ends January 1, 2013).
Relevance Ministries, in partnership with United Methodist-related Claremont School of Theology, returns to Las Vegas Feb. 14-17, 2013, for Relevance LEAD and Relevance X. The University of Las Vegas will host both events.
Young clergy, leaders of young adult ministries and young adults will gather from across the United States and Canada for a three-day conversation focused on converging, innovating and transforming young adult ministry in The United Methodist Church.
"We are excited to partner with Claremont School of Theology," says the Rev. Rob Rynders, Relevance X organizer and co-founder, "because we believe they are at the forefront of innovation when it comes to theological education and how we talk about faith in the 21st Century."
Two Conferences in one weekend
LEAD will bring together the collective wisdom of those who want to transform and grow young adult ministry in the church. Participants will hear from speakers, in a "Ted" like format, offering new and innovative ideas for ministry. In addition to the speakers, this year's lineup includes artists, musicians and poets. LEAD 2013 will merge with Relevance X on Saturday, February 16.
Relevance X begins Friday night, February 15 and will focus on empowering young adults (age 18-35) through worship and service, uniting their voices to actively creating change in communities. The emphasis will be on how followers of Christ can step beyond their comfort zones to create networks of missional communities that effectively make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
Registration covers both events.
Scholarships and discount codes are available; contact Kelly Newell, Director of Camping and Young People's Ministries at firstname.lastname@example.org or 916.374.1515, for more information.
