Free Webinar on Adaptive Leadership on Nov. 5

November 01, 2012

What is "Adaptive Leadership"? The term is being overused and misused so frequently that we are in danger of diminishing its potential for helping us evolve. In a free webinar, Monday, Nov. 5, 5:30-6:30 pm PST, brought to you by the General Board of Discipleship (GBOD) and United Methodist Communications (UMCom), you'll have a chance to explore the concept as it has been developed by Heifetz, Linsky and Grashow. The webinar will define what Adaptive Leadership is, examine the key assumptions that undergird it, and explore the skill sets required to enable true adaptive leadership in the Church.

You will learn:
  • What adaptive leadership really is
  • Key assumptions
  • What skill sets are needed
The webinar will be led by the Rev. Susan Beaumont, Senior Consultant, The Alban Institute – an ordained clergy person who also has an MBA and extensive corporate leadership and consulting experience. She has studied with Ronald Heifetz, co-founder of the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard, author of Leadership Without Easy Answers and the pre-eminent thinker and teacher in the area of adaptive leadership. Beaumont has worked with a several United Methodist Annual Conferences, as well as a number of other denominations and middle judicatories.
