Only a few weeks remain to sign up for a Jan. 30-Feb. 10, 2013 trip to the Holy Land, organized by the Rev. Scott Allred, pastor of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Chico. Final payment for the excursion is due Oct. 30.
After Christmas and before the Easter Season is a favorable time of year to travel to Israel. The number of travelers then is far fewer than at other times of the year, and the weather is cool.
The tour will journey to many biblical locations, such as Nazareth, Galilee, Carmel, the Jordan River, the Dead Sea, Masada, Joppa and the Coast, and – of course – Jerusalem. It is open to all interested persons and is a wonderful opportunity to walk where Jesus walked. Don't miss what is sure to be a deeply meaningful spiritual experience.
The guide will be Mishi Neubach of Jerusalem, who has been leading historical tours of Israel since the early 1970s. Neubach has degrees in both History and Christian Doctrine, and is sought by many groups and churches in the U.S. that appreciate his presentation of the life and ministry of Jesus from an historical and Jewish point of view. The Israeli Government selected him to be the personal tour guide of former United States Presidents George H.W. Bush, William Clinton, and George W. Bush.
The travel agent for the trip is Beverly Robb, owner of Omega Travel of Houston, Texas (and wife of Ed Robb, Jr., pastor of the 3,300-member Woodlands UMC).
Cost of the trip is $3,969* per person, which includes airfare from San Francisco, transportation in Israel, hotels (all lodging is in four- and five-star hotels), and two meals per day. Flight insurance and gratuities are extra.
$500 is due with registration and the balance is due Oct. 30.
(*Price is dependent on a minimum of 20 total passengers.)
