Sign up for 2013 Holy Land Trip
August 23, 2012
The Rev. Scott Allred, pastor of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Chico, is planning a trip to the Holy Land for Jan. 30-Feb. 10, 2013. The tour will journey to many biblical locations, such as Nazareth, Galilee, Carmel, the Jordan River, the Dead Sea, Masada, Joppa and the Coast, and of course Jerusalem.
It will be a favorable time of year to travel to Israel, after Christmas and before the masses that arrive for the Easter Season. The number of other travelers is far fewer than at other times in the year, and the weather is cool.
The travel agent for the trip is Beverly Robb, owner of Omega Travel of Houston, Texas. Beverly is a member of the 3,300-member Woodlands UMC where her husband, Ed Robb, Jr., is the pastor. She has led and organized many tours of the Holy Land, England, and the Steps of Paul in Greece and the Mediterranean.
The guide for the trip will be Mishi Neubach of Jerusalem. He has been leading historical tours of Israel since the early 1970s and is a great guide. He has degrees in both History and Christian Doctrine, and is sought by many groups and churches in the U.S. that appreciate his presentation of the life and ministry of Jesus from an historical and Jewish point of view. Mishi was asked by the Israeli Government to be the personal tour guide of former United States Presidents George H.W. Bush, William Clinton, and George W. Bush.
Cost of the trip is $3,969* per person, which includes airfare from San Francisco, transportation in Israel, all hotels, and two meals per day. Lodging is in four- and five-star hotels. (*Price is dependent on a minimum of 20 total passengers.) Flight insurance and gratuities are extra.
This trip is open to all interested persons. Your family members and friends are welcome, so feel free to invite them! It will be a spiritual experience for all, and a wonderful opportunity to walk where Jesus walked.
