Caregiver Support Forum Will Take Place at UM Center in October

July 30, 2012

A Caregiver Support Forum, "A Hopeful Future: Giving Care from a Multiple-discipline Perspective," will be offered Saturday, Oct. 13, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., at the United Methodist Center (Conference offices) in West Sacramento.

It is sponsored by the California-Nevada Annual Conference Older Adult Ministry Council and funded by a General Board of Discipleship (GBOD) grant.
The forum is open to all caregivers and those who work with caregivers. Registration is required.
The morning session will feature a workshop on Movement with Meaning – a technique for interacting with persons with dementia – taught by Barbara Larsen. The afternoon session will consist of a panel on giving care from a multiple-discipline perspective.
A light lunch will be provided.
Caregiving is a challenge to many persons in our churches, and this forum is designed to offer support and ideas to give those caregivers more spiritual strength, along with tools to better handle the burdens they carry.
