Erin Fink, who attends the University of California at Davis in the California-Nevada Annual Conference, is one of three recipients of a 2012 scholarship from The Reverend Frank Witman United Methodist Federal Credit Union Scholarship Fund.
Other scholarship winners: Monalisa Siofele, attending Claremont School of Theology in the California-Pacific Annual Conference, and Gregory Harrison, a student at Northern Arizona University in the Desert Southwest Annual Conference.
The Reverend Frank Witman United Methodist Federal Credit Union Scholarship Fund was established to offer four $500 scholarships to students attending any institution of higher education for professional, academic, or vocational training and development.
The scholarship program is open to individuals who are members of UMFCU and who are enrolled or planning to attend an accredited college or university, campus ministry, community college, or recognized technical or trade school, with a minimum of 12 credit hours per academic term and having a cumulative grade point average of 2.5.
Each applicant must write a 1,000-word essay communicating the importance of financial responsibility in his or her life and the surrounding world. Applicants for scholarships are evaluated according to academic promise, social awareness, financial need, and appreciation of the United Methodist Federal Credit Union.
