Task Force Sponsors Movin' for the Movement Basketball Tourney on June 9

The California-Nevada Annual Conference Philippines Solidarity Task Force is sponsoring its second annual basketball tournament, "Movin' for the Movement," to raise awareness about the human rights situation in the Philippines and to raise funds for the task force. The tournament will take place on Saturday, June 9 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.), at Wayside United Methodist Church, 2309 Columbus Parkway, Vallejo, CA 94591.

And you don't have a team to take part! You can participate by sponsoring the event for $60 (or an amount with which you feel comfortable).
 
Another way to participate is to volunteer to help with the event. The following volunteers are still needed:
  • Registration Table (2)
  • Raffle Sales (1)
  • Referees (2)
  • Scorekeeper (1)
  • Photographer – preferably someone with his or her own camera (1)
  • Videographer – preferably someone with his or her own video camera (1)
  • Security/Traffic Control (2)
  • Concession Stand (1-2)
  • Jumper Monitor (1)
A point person for the concession stand, to help with purchasing the food for the BBQ prior to the tournament, is also needed. The point person will be in charge of setting prices, organizing food donations, and monitoring the stand.
