Chinese Community UMC hosts 2012 summer mission exchange

Churches – take advantage of a special mission itineration opportunity. This summer, CCUMC will host two members of Youth and Child Visionary Ministries (YCVM) from Kumi, Uganda. Silver Omakenyi and Grace Among will share the Spirit-infused story of YCVM, as well as their dream of a primary school for the poorest and most vulnerable in Kumi. You are invited to learn about what God is doing through YCVM in Kumi and how you might get involved. Churches that would like to host a presentation are invited to respond as soon as possible, providing three possible dates.
Mission exchange itineration dates for the Ugandan guest missioners will be July 9-August 11.
Silver Omakenyi is the founder, vision bearer, and director of YCVM. He is a gifted musician, composer, and a Ugandan national champion adungu player (traditional bow harp), and instrument maker. As a young, single man, Silver responded to God's call to care for the most vulnerable in his village of Kumi, Uganda. His commitment and tireless efforts, together with that of others in the community, grew into Youth and Child Visionary Ministries (YCVM).
Grace Among is a founding YCVM board member and the organization's administrator, who is responsible for the education and nurture of the sponsored children. Following her two great passions in life, worship and education, Grace has been an English teacher at Ngora High School since 2000, and a worship leader, choir mistress, and a worship singer since her secondary school days. She has a BA in English Literature from Makerere University and currently is pursuing an MA in Organizational Leadership and Management.
Hear the incredible story of YCVM through Silver and Grace and the unfolding dream of Kumi Christian Visionary School (KCVS). Invite Silver and Grace to your community!
