'Leading Beyond the Walls' Workshop Imparts Vitality Principles, Practices
April 19, 2012
By Dave Bunje and Joan Pell
The June 8-9 Leading Beyond the Walls workshop at First United Methodist Church of Loomis will explore effective leadership principles for developing congregations that are outward-centered, in a culture to which Christianity is foreign.
Key topics include:
- Spiritual Leadership
- Clear Purpose and Vision
- Accessible Outreach and Evangelism
- Excellent Worship and Preaching
- Care and Discipleship for the Congregation
- Strategic Planning
- The Unique Benefits of Methodism
The workshop is designed to detail hands-on practices and to build enthusiasm for our work of growing in vitality. Churches are encouraged to send a team to attend: Please note that teams must include the pastor and at least two lay people.
For those traveling a distance, Friday night accommodation with Saturday breakfast will be available in circuit members' homes, by request.
Hosted by the Great Northern District and (Foothills) Circuit on the Rise, this workshop will be led by staff from the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection outside Kansas City (at which the Rev. Adam Hamilton is senior pastor).
Leading Beyond the Walls will take place Friday-Saturday, June 8-9, 2012 (6:30-9 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday). $35 per person registration fee includes Saturday lunch and snacks.
Registration is on line at http://www.cnumc.org/register. For clergy, approval is pending for one CEU in Disciple Making or Professional Competency.
Please print and distribute flyer to lay leaders in your local church.
