Godly Play Training Event at Central UMC, Stockton in October

September 29, 2011

The Godly Play Program at Central United Methodist Church in Stockton is hosting a weekend "Godly Play Certified Training," with Sally Thomas, in October.

There are a lot of things to be learned from a lecture, but Godly Play is best learned from the inside out. By blurring the lines between teacher and student, participants will experience and learn Godly Play stories in a collegial, prayerful setting. Godly Play Foundation's talented trainers will deepen the participants' understanding of children's spiritualty, while guiding them on a personal journey of wonder. By exploring the fundamental foundations of a Godly Play classroom at this accredited training event, you will improve your teaching skills, learn how to build a classroom of your own, and leave spiritually refreshed.
Prior experience with Godly Play is helpful, but not necessary. Participants are asked to read Teaching Godly Play, How to Mentor the Spiritual Development of Children by Jerome W. Berryman before attending the training.
The training begins on Friday, Oct. 21, 5-9 p.m., continues on Saturday, Oct. 22, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., and concludes on Sunday, Oct. 23, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
Registration fee is $360.
