Day for the Laity Is Planned for Nov. 5

September 15, 2011

Co-Lay Leader, CA-NV Annual Conference

"Ordinary to Extraordinary: A Day for the Laity" will take place Saturday, Nov. 5, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the United Methodist Center in West Sacramento. God works through ordinary people to do extraordinary things!
Think you are ordinary? Think again! Come celebrate the extraordinary things we can do for God.  Join with laity from across our Conference to share in developing ways of leadership and service that lead to doing the things that matter to God, and that make a difference in our congregations and communities as we make disciples to transform the world.
Come explore ways we can build a movement of Methodism following Wesley, and building extraordinary congregations with outreach and generosity. Gain insights on partnering with your pastors and being who we are called to be – not only at church, but also at home, work, school, and in all those places where our lives touch the lives of others.
Let's build ways to enable each other to recognize and respond to the call each of us accepts, as members of the United Methodist Church – for prayer, presence, gifts, service, and witness, as we take ordinary moments and turn them into extraordinary examples of being the Church in the world.
Online registration for the event will open next week and will be announced in the Instant Connection. Watch for it. And in the meantime – mark your calendar for Saturday, Nov. 5!
The United Methodist Center is located at 1276 Halyard Drive, West Sacramento, CA 95691.
