An orientation and training for Conference committee leadership has been scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 10, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Sacramento.
The event is a first step in the process of orientation and training to enable Conference leaders to live into and experiment with our proposed Conference structure – which aligns the work of the Conference with the denomination's four areas of mission focus.
"What we are doing goes beyond revamping an organizational chart," said Linda Caldwell, Conference Superintendent for Mission Alignment, in her invitation to attend. "In order to take full advantage of the changes we are moving into, we will need to adopt new assumptions and new behaviors.
"We are setting aside this day to explore the proposed structure fully so that we can start to live into it and operate out of it for the next 10 months," she continued.
The designated officers for each committee have been invited to attend; the chairperson may extend the invitation to other committee members, as well.
Officers and other invited committee members are asked to RSVP on line, to let meeting planners know whether they will or will not be able to attend.
