Youth 2011 to Rock Sacramento Next Week
July 21, 2011
After years of planning, Youth 2011 is set to rock the Convention Center in Sacramento next week.
Youth 2011 is the national youth gathering for The United Methodist Church. It's the largest single gathering of UMC youth in existence, and is an event that only happens every four years.
This time around two locations were chosen to host the event: The first gathering was July 13-17 on the campus of Purdue University, and the second will be here in the California-Nevada Annual Conference July 27-31.
Conference Director of Young People's Ministries Kelly Newell reports that a music team from Valley Faith UMC in Sunnyvale has agreed to perform at Youth 2011. The group will conduct pre-worship Friday night, when the Conference's own Rev. Motoe Yamada will be the main speaker.
Watch for news and images from Youth 2011 to be included in the August 4 edition of Instant Connection.
