The mission of an early response team is to provide a caring Christian presence in the aftermath of a disaster. Taught by authorized United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) trainers, this nationally recognized certification gets you behind the barricades to join with other responders, officials, and organizations before rebuilding starts. Participants learn how to effectively help salvage people, their houses, and their belongings devastated by disaster.
The training cost of $40 includes lunch, a manual, and an ID badge.
An Early Response Team Refresher class is also available, October 14, 6-9 p.m. at Pinole United Methodist Church, 2000 San Pablo Avenue, San Pablo, CA 94564. The cost is $15 (meal is provided). An annual refresher class is required to remain authorized by UMCOR for deployment to disaster sites outside our Conference.
