Attend Aug. 27 Extravagant Generosity Workshop in Palo Alto

July 21, 2011

Sign up your church leadership for a Conference Workshop on Annual Funding and Extravagant Generosity, featuring leaders from the General Board of Discipleship (GBOD), August 27 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

First United Methodist Church of Palo Alto will host the workshop.

The workshop utilizes a new stewardship program, Extravagant Generosity: The Heart of Giving, by Michael Reeves, Jennifer Tyler, and Bishop Robert Schnase (author of Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations), which is designed to move your entire congregation toward goal-oriented, mission-minded giving.

You can expect to:
  • Put your annual funding program into a year-round plan for cultivating extravagant generosity;
  • Know the characteristics of a generous church;
  • Learn effective ways to communicate mission and inspire generosity;
  • Get equipped to address today's financial challenges;
  • Take away an action plan to nurture generous givers through your church's ministries.
You are encouraged to purchase the Extravagant Generosity materials from Cokesbury.com (or another bookseller) prior to the workshop.
