Don't Forget to Buy Your Tickets! 'Laugh for Justice' Event Is May 7 at Temple UMC

April 21, 2011

Buy your tickets now to attend the "Laugh for Justice" comedy fundraiser on Saturday, May 7 at 7:30 p.m., at Temple United Methodist Church in San Francisco. The event is a benefit for the Bay Area Immigration Task Force (BAIT), which is raising money to hire a specialist attorney for its immigration law clinic, hosted by Temple UMC.

Nationally-acclaimed comedian Jimmy Tingle (at left) will perform. Tingle has appeared on (to name a few) the Tonight Show, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, American Comedy Awards, and 60 Minutes II (as a weekly humorist/commentator), in addition to starring in his own special on HBO. He has donated his talents to this special benefit.

Check out his promotional video above.

The immigration law clinic provides free (sliding scale) professional legal services to immigrants. In its first year of operation it utilized the services of a visiting attorney provided through a Justice for Our Neighbors grant.

Tickets are just $25 in advance or $30 at the door.

You may purchase advance tickets on line, or buy at the church. (Click on "Registrations" on the Home Page or go to http://cnumc.org/register and scroll down to "Order (Resources, Tickets) Here.")

Temple UMC is located at 65 Beverly Street, San Francisco, CA 94132. There's plenty of free parking and Temple is convenient to the "M" car and BART.
