'The Awkward Season': Online Lenten Retreat Is Offered March 9-April 25

February 24, 2011

An online study opportunity, The Awkward Season: A Lent Retreat, will be offered this year by the Upper Room through BeADisciple.com. The study is based on the book, The Awkward Season, by Pamela C. Hawkins [Upper Room Books].

The retreat will begin on Wednesday, March 9 and continue through Monday, April 25, as participants in small groups engage in personal daily prayer practice; grow deeper in the practice of prayers of intercession; read and discuss Scripture with retreat participants from near and far; and journey through Lent and on to Easter together.

Participants should plan to log in approximately three times weekly, at a time of day which is convenient to their own schedules.

Ingrid Quigley, a member of Willow Glen United Methodist Church in San Jose, will be a facilitator for one of the study groups, having gained experience as an online facilitator with the Advent/Christmas Retreat in December.
