It's Time to Renew Your Church Video License

February 03, 2011

It's time to renew your church video license through the California-Nevada Annual Conference's umbrella program with Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI). The license allows for the public showing of DVDs and videocassettes in your church and childcare program.

Once again, the Conference is offering churches the option of paying their subscriber fee on line. The renewal price is $173 (or $174 if your church has a childcare facility to be covered by the license).

To renew your church's license – or to obtain coverage if your church was not licensed last year – click on CVLI Renewal Form or copy and paste the web address http://cnumc.org/registrations/register/38 into your browser.

For more information and to view an up-to-date list of churches which have coverage for the April 2, 2011 to April, 2, 2012 year, go to "Church Video License," found under "Resources" on the blue navigation bar at the top of the Home Page at www.cnumc.org.

If your church upgraded to a ScreenVue Plus membership, please contact SreenVue at www.screenvue.com to renew.

The CVLI certificate will be emailed upon receipt of payment. Contact Jane Horstman at 916.374.1518 or janeh@calnevumc.org if you have questions.

Music Licensing: As a reminder, please be sure to follow appropriate copyright laws with regard to copying and displaying music and music lyrics, as well. Obtain a license if necessary. The companies most commonly used are Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI), which is a sister company of CVLI, OneLicense, and LicenSing. Churches must obtain this license and maintain coverage on their own; the Conference does not offer an umbrella program for music licensing.
