UM Publishing House Launches First Mobile Application

January 26, 2011

NASHVILLE – Looking for a mobile daily Bible study? Yes, there is an app for that, and it is currently free! The United Methodist Publishing House's (UMPH) Daily Bible Study is now just a click or touch away.

Daily Bible Study is now available for iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch devices. The application offers a daily thought, Scripture reading, commentary, and prayer – and allows you to share content with friends via Facebook, Twitter, or email. UMPH's first mobile application is free through February in the iTunes store.

"As our society grows more mobile, readers are clamoring for resources to be delivered in new and creative ways," says Myca Alford, Web and Digital Publishing Manager. "This is only the beginning of a long-term plan to provide people with the high-quality Christian materials they expect from Abingdon Press in exciting new formats."

Daily Bible Study mobile application provides a Bible-based, Christ-focused daily reading that helps individuals who are on-the-go to develop the discipline of engaging with and applying the teachings of the Bible to their lives. Each daily reading opens with a question to ponder, a reading and commentary on the daily Scripture passage, an application to life, and a concluding prayer.
