Remember to Register by End of Year, for Second Cycle of Home-Based CLayM Course
December 09, 2010
Begins New Year's Day
With all you must accomplish before the end of the year, don't forget to register for the second cycle of CLayM@Home, the DVD-based Conference Lay Minister training, which begins January 1.
CLayM@Home is brand new this year. It presents an attractive alternative to CLayMAway, the traditional training held at the United Methodist Center in West Sacramento, by allowing participants to study largely at home by DVD. That option makes CLayM@Home training easier to accomplish for those with fulltime jobs or other constraints.
There will be two mandatory retreats, February 12-13 and at the end of the course May 21-22.
Both programs – the new CLayM@Home and CLayMAway – can result in eligibility for "Certified Lay Minister" assignment, for graduates who discern such a Call. The same application will be used for both programs.
(The second CLayMAway flight of the 2010-2011 year will be January 17-21. It is a continuation from November and no new entries will be accepted, except by special request from a district superintendent.)
For more information and to apply for the Jan. 1-May 22 cycle of CLayM@Home, visit the CLayM page on the Conference website at www.cnumc.org/CLayM.
